The sixth meeting for the Technical Committee, assigned to discuss the Unified Competition Law in the GCC member states, began its deliberations here today. The unified law aims at protecting and encouraging competition, and fighting practices that may have an adverse impact on the legal competition. The draft of the unified law will be submitted to the concerned authorities for its approval as an obligatory law which should be implemented at the GCC level. The GCC is made up of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
