A Russian truck driver was killed and a bus driver, a Kyrgyz national, was injured in a crash on Monday in the northwestern Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China, Xinhua quoted local authorities as saying. The crash took place in Wuqia County at about 4 p.m. when the truck, which was en route to Kyrgyzstan, collided with a bus carrying 15 Kyrgyz tourists, according to officials with the Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture of Kizilsu. The 28-year-old Russian driver, whose identity hasn't been established, died on the way to the hospital. The bus driver was slightly injured and was being treated in the hospital, local police said. The 15 tourists were traveling from Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, to Artux City in Xinjiang. All were safe and had been accommodated properly, according to the local government. The accident was probably caused by speeding by the bus, but further investigations were needed, police said.
