An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale jolted Banda Aceh on Sunday evening at 9.59 pm Western Indonesian Time (WIM), ANTARA reported. The quake's epicenter was located at 5.14 degrees northern latitude and 94.68 degrees eastern longitude at a depth of 27 km below sea level, or around 86 km southwest of Banda Aceh, according to Uma, an officer at the Mata Ie station of the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMG) here on Monday. The earthquake which lasted three minutes was felt by local residents at the second and third level of Modified Mercalli Intensity (MMI).
