Gazaeri, regional director of WHO, said on this occasion, "We can decrease the spread of blindness through simple procedures such as taking care of cleanliness of eyes, keep them safe, eat foods rich in Vitamin 'A' and early examine our children's eyes to keep them healthy. AGFUND has extended a supporting role in this field where it called on UN, international and regional organizations, national societies, universities, research centers, and civil society organizations worldwide to nominate the projects that are pioneering in combat of blindness and planned its prize in this field. Nasser Al Qahtani, Executive Director of AGFUND pointed out that branches of the pioneering AGFUND prize are as follows: The first prize branch is about (Supporting national policies and strategies for combat of diseases causing visual disability).
