Tokyo stocks opened slightly higher Thursday on improved market sentiment thanks to a weaker yen and stability on Wall Street. according to DPA. The Nikkei 225 Stock Average rose 11.35 points, or 0.09 per cent, to 13,200.71. Japan's key index soared more than 4 per cent at the end of Wednesday trading, rising above the 13,000 level for the first time in a month. The broader Topix index of all first-section issues was almost unchanged at 1,282.78, up 0.71 points. On currency markets at 9 am (0000 GMT), the dollar was quoted at 102.21-26 yen, up from Wednesday's 5 pm quote of 101.93-95 yen. The euro was quoted at 1.5671-76 dollars, up from Wednesday's 5 pm quote of 1.5610-12 dollars, and at 160.24-29 yen, up from 159.12-16 yen.
