At least 14 people were reported killed Saturday, including civilians, Iraqi police officers and US soldiers, and another 25 were wounded in separate incidents across Iraq, DPA quoted US military and security sources and media reports as saying. In northwest of Baghdad, two US soldiers were killed and another was wounded when an explosive device went off targeting their vehicle, US military said. Two civilians were also killed. Six people were injured, including four of the Awakening Councils, when a bomb went off targeting a checkpoint in Mansour district of western Baghdad, the Voices of Iraq (VOI) news agency said. In another incident, four civilians were injured in south east Baghdad when a roadside explosive device was detonated in Mashtal area, VOI said. In Baquba, north of Baghdad, members of the Awakening Councils shot dead two civilians and an Iraqi police officer as they targeted a patrol, VOI said. Also in Baquba, three Iraq police troops were wounded when suspected terrorists targeted a patrol in Mansour area, sources told VOI. In the northern city of Kirkuk, at least one civilian was killed and nine were wounded when a bomb targeting an Iraqi patrol went off in the al Dahab al-Aswad area, security sources told Deutsche Presse- Agentur dpa. In other news, six members of the Awakening Council were killed and two were wounded when a US helicopter hit the Om Talayeb area in the northern city of Samara, sources told dpa. The sources said that the US forces targeted the Awakening Councils members in the early hours of Saturday as they had not been notified of their presence in Samara.
