SPA At least six persons including Pakistan Navy personnel were killed in four explosions that took place in quick succession in the Naval War College, located in a high security zone of Lahore, Tuesday, police said. Nearly twenty persons were wounded, some of them seriously, in the blasts. Officials said that the death toll may rise significantly in view the conditions of the injured persons. The Lahore police chief told the reporters that it was a suicide attack. However, another senior official said it was premature to say whether it was suicide bombing or remote-controlled bomb blast. Eyewitnesses said the explosions occurred in a mini truck standing in the parking place of the college. The injured persons were shifted to three major hospitals of Lahore. Security agencies cordoned off the area immediately. Windowpanes of the buildings adjacent to the naval war college were shattered. The college is located close to the busiest Mall Road of Lahore near the GOR (Government Officers Residences). Fire caught the building after the explosions as thick smoke continue to billow out.
