The number of deaths in the suicide bombing that targeted government offices in Pakistan's north-western city of Hangu on Thursday was raised to 27 with more than 50 injured, police said according to dpa. District Police Chief Abdul Rashid said the bomber detonated an explosives-laden mini truck in a street where several state buildings, including his own office, were located. No one has claimed responsibility for the bombing but Taliban and al-Qaeda-linked militants have carried out a series of attacks in Pakistan to avenge the May 2 killing of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden by US special forces.
