Former ruling party vowed to defend Musharraf

The former ruling party, Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) has vowed to defend and protect President Pervez Musharraf against the onslaught launched by the parties that won the Feb 18 parliamentary elections.
Musharraf is an elected President, top PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervez Elahi told the reporters.
He said that Musharraf and PML-Q leaders keep consulting each other on various issues.
Doors of the President are also open for all other political forces. Slain Benazir Bhutto s Pakistan People s Party or PPP is in touch with the president while Nawaz Sharif s PML can also do the same , Elahi said.
