At least five people were killed and several others injured in a jeep accident in western Nepal, DPA quoted news reports as saying Sunday. The jeep plummeted about 100 metres off a highway in Baglung district, about 300 kilometres west of the Nepalese capital Kathmandu, after loosing control on a sharp bend on a narrow mountainous highway, independent Radio Kantipur reported. The radio station quoted the police as saying that five people, including he driver, died instantly while 11 others were injured, most of them seriously. The police said the driver lost control of the vehicles due to over crowding. The jeep was carrying nearly twice its capacity.
