Five people, including three children, died in a household fire in Yakutsk , the Far Eastern center of the Emergency Situations Ministry told Itar-Tass. A private wooden home measuring six meters by eight meters in area went up in flames in minutes. The man rescued from the blaze soon died of wounds without regaining conscience. The bodies of three children and a woman were found later. Police and firefighting service experts are studying the scene of the tragedy. A malfunctioning wood-fuelled stove or abuse of fire safety rules may have been to blame. The firefighters received the alarm call too late. According to the regional Emergency Situations Ministry center there have been 44 fires in various localities of Russia's Far East over the past 24 hours. Ten people died and four others were injured.
