The extraordinary meeting of the executive committee began its meeting at the level of the foreign ministers at the secretariat general of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). Speaking on the occasion the Pakistani foreign minister said the convening of the meeting comes at a time when the Palestinians are facing a barbaric Israeli military campaign in Gaza. He noted that the siege imposed on Gaza constitutes a flagrant violation to the Geneva treaty and the human international law. The Pakistani minister expressed the condemnation of the OIC to the Israeli military campaign against the Palestinian people, and said such a development will undermine the international efforts which aim at reaching a fair and durable solution for the Palestinian problem. He highlighted the role of the Egyptian government in helping the Palestinians who have earlier crossed the borders to Egypt. --more
