A team of Five Saudi students from the Jeddah-based Dar Al-Fekir school have designed a robot in one of the most important inventions that combine robotic programming and scientific research. The Director of the School, AbdulKader Mohammad Al-Bakri said that the new robot won the award for best innovative design in First Lego Contest for 2007, which combines programming of the robot and scientific research organized by the National Center for Training in the city of Riyadh under the supervision and support of King Abdulaziz and his men Foundation for the care of the gifted. More than 35 schools for boys and girls around the Kingdom have participated in the Contest. Bakri noted the great efforts made by the Foundation for the care of the gifted, pointing out that it is working to create a new generation of scientists and inventors and encourage children in various fields of sciences and creativity who could participate in the future building of their society. --MORE
