Khobar, Saudi Arabia, January 28 , SPA -- Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Assistant Minister of Petroleum and Mineral resources for Petroleum affairs has reiterated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is encouraging greater usage of hi-tech solutions in dealing with the Climate Change. "These solutions include the advanced technology for separation and storage of Carbon dioxide, especially after fossil-fuel proved to be the first option that will dominate the World market during the 21st Century," he said. "Although the Kingdom will not need the Technology of separation and storage of Carbon Dioxide for the enhanced extraction of the oil in the upcoming years, but it will make many researches and upgrade this Technology to have its fair share in confronting the Climate Change as part of its contribution to International cooperation in this field," Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman said. He made these remarks in an address at the Third Workshop on "Building Capabilities of the International pioneering Forum for separation and storage of Carbon Dioxide, which is hosted by the Kingdom in Al-Khobar City for two days within the context of its participation in the International efforts to reduce the emissions of Carbon Dioxide and facing the Climate Change. The Oil industry in the GCC states are in need of building partnership with research institutions in order to find solutions in the field of geological storage and increase the oil production as well as reduce the cost of separating Carbon Dioxide from immovable resources as well as finding new Technology for its separation from movable resources, the prince added.
