The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi received here today, Finland's Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Dr Paavo Vayrynen. During the meeting, they discussed the global energy markets; the Kingdom's endeavors for their stability in terms of the balance between supply and demand as well as prices; environmental issues; climate change; the importance of expansion in the use of renewable energy such as solar energy; and the use of technology to reduce harmful emissions to environment such as re-injection of carbon dioxide in oil fields, which helps to protect the environment and raises the rates of oil extraction, whereas Saudi Aramco Company is playing a leading role in this regard. They also reviewed the promotion of joint investments between the two countries; the development of cooperation between Saudi and Finnish companies; and the importance of exchange of visits between Saudi and Finnish officials for the enhancement of the petroleum cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the field of petroleum and mining. The meeting was attended by Prince Abdulaziz Ibn Salman Ibn Abdulaziz, Assistant Minister for Petroleum Affairs, a number of senior officials of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and the Ambassador of Finland to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
