Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the President of the Saudi Red Crescent Society, has called the international red cross and crescent societies to unify their stand vis-à-vis the dangerous humanitarian situation in Gaza strip and the sufferings of the civilian population due to the policy of economic siege and the crimes being committed against the unarmed civilians. In cables to the president of the international union of the red cross and crescent; the red cross; and head of the international committee of red cross and the Arab organization for the red crescent and cross, Prince Faisal said this dangerous humanitarian situation contradicts with the principles of the international and humanitarian law and added that the situation is about to turn into a dangerous humanitarian disaster. He added that the existing siege will endanger the lives of hundreds of thousands of the inhabitants due to the inhuman practices notably prevention of arrival of medicines, food and the other human requirements to the Gaza strip. Prince Faisal bin Abdullah called for finding an integrated working mechanism for making the relief assistance reach the affected persons.
