Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz received the Caliph Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Medallion of First Class on Saturday from the Organization of Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross in recognition and appreciation of his personal initiatives in humanitarian work across the world. The medallion was presented to the Monarch by Secretary General of the Organization Abdullah Bin Muhammad Al-Hazza during a royal reception here. The reception was attended by Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, President of Saudi Red Crescent Society and presidents of Red Crescent Societies across the Arab world. King Abdullah appreciated the medallion, emphasizing that humanitarian work is part of what he feels as his duty as a Muslim and a human being and wishing them all success in their noble mission. In his speech on the occasion, Al-Hazza said that international records speak volumes of humanitarian aid offered by Saudi Arabia, equivalent to about 5 percent of its income, topping the aid list at the international level. It is for that humanitarian cause that the Kingdom has rightfully won the title of “Kingdom of humanity,” he said. Saudi Arabia has contributed SR10m and allocated a land for building the Organization's headquarters in Riyadh, expected to be completed by the end of this year. The audience was attended by Prince Miqren Bin Abdul Aziz, Chief of General Intelligence.
