At least eight Iraqi civilians were injured and seven suspects detained Sunday in violence across Iraq while a motorbike curfew was also reported in Baghdad, according to dpa. In one incident, two civilians were wounded when two shells hit a gas station in southern Baghdad, the Iraqi news agency Voice of Iraq (VOI) reported. The first shell hit a car queue near the gas station wounding at least two civilians and burning two vehicles, while the second fell in an empty area in Mahdeya district. In another incident, two civilians were injured when two explosive devices detonated simultaneously targeting a group of civilians in Sadr, eastern Baghdad. In Babel, some 100 kilometres south of Baghdad, two explosive devices detonated injuring at least three civilians. The first explosion detonated in a vehicle, injuring two Iraqis and burning the car near the entrance to the Alexandria district, while the other explosion injured one civilian in a house located inside the district. Militants bombed a store containing alcohol in the Makhmour area of northern Baghdad injuring the owner and caused material damage amounting to at least 4,000 dollars. Separately, Iraqi security forces imposed a motorbike curfew in the Iraqi capital starting early Monday, security sources told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa.
