Minister of social affairs Abdul-Mohsin al-Ekas has issued his directives to organize a seminar on the phenomenon of divorce in the Saudi society. The seminar due to be organized at Prince Salman social center here will be attended by a number of experts, sociologists and psychologists. Undersecretary of the ministry of social affairs for social development Awad al-Raddadi said the seminar will be organized under the patronage of King Khalid charitable foundation. He noted that the Saudi society is facing the phenomenon of divorce and the divorce rate jumped to 35 percent last year from 19 percent in 1422. Dr al-Raddadi said the organization of the seminar which will discuss the causes of divorce aims at the awareness of the members of the society.
