All philanthropists have been urged to deposit the money they want to spend on charity directly into the bank accounts of the charitable societies and organizations. Awad Al-Raddadi, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Social Affairs for Social Care and Development, stressed that it was illegal to collect donations through coupons and boxes. He said the Ministry supervises and directly monitors the performance of charitable societies through its field supervisors and accountants who regularly visit these societies, Al-Hayat said. Al-Raddadi added that the Ministry also monitors the performance of these societies through the financial statements issued by the auditing offices. He called upon philanthropists to support these societies because they fully depend on donations, charities and alms. He lauded the role being played by societies in turning the donation recipients and the needy people into productive citizens. __
