Crude oil produced by members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) was up by 45 per cent, DPA quoted the sources of the 13-member cartel as saying on Wednesday. According to the Vienna-based OPEC Secretariat, the price for one barrel (159 litres) of OPEC crude stood at 84.64 dollars on Tuesday, compared with 84.19 dollars the previous day. OPEC calculates an average basket price based on twelve important brands produced by member states.
