The price of crude oil from the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries has fallen below 40 dollars a barrel, the OPEC secretariat said in Vienna Friday. Analysts attributed the fall to 39.02 dollars to a reduction in tension in Iraq following an agreement to end the conflict in the Shiite holy city of Najaf. OPEC said the price, based on a basket of seven different crudes, was down by 1.43 dollars from Thursday.
