Proliferation Treaty and allow the IAEA to inspect its nuclear sites. In this context, the council urged the international community to put pressure on Israel to meet the demands in this regard. The council laid stress on making the Middle East, including the Arab Gulf, a region free from all weapons of mass destruction including endorsement of the right of the countries in the region to possess the nuclear power within the parameters of international agreements. The communiqué stressed the importance of respecting the unity and sovereignty of Iraq, enabling it to maintain its Arab and Muslim identity, not interfering in its internal affairs, adding that the national reconciliation among different communities was essential to achieve stability there. --More
