The Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz chaired the cabinet's session at Al-Yamamah palace in Riyadh on Monday. At the outset of the session, Prince Sultan briefed the cabinet on the talks, communications and consultations the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz held over the previous days with leaders of countries on the developments of the situations in the region and the world. The Monarch held a meeting with President Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian National Authority and Chairman of the Executive Committee of Palestine Liberation Organization which dealt with the developments of the peace process in the region. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, the Minister of Transport, Acting Minister of Culture and Information Dr Jubarah bin Eid Al-Suraisri said that the cabinet reaffirmed the Kingdom's commitment to supporting peace in the region including several serious initiatives to end the conflict between the Arabs and Israel and the initiatives of countries and international organizations and bodies, particularly the United Nations aiming to achieve progress in this regard. The cabinet looks forward to seeing the outcomes of Annapolis Conference contribute to the success, continuity and seriousness of launching negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis which should address all the final solution issues and the launching of negotiations on Syrian and Lebanese tracks. --More
