Turkish President Abdullah Gul, who arrived in Pakistan Sunday night, held talks with his Pakistani counterpart Pervez Musharraf and caretaker Prime Minister Mohammadmian Soomro Monday, said an official statement. Addressing a joint press conference with Gul, Musharraf said Pakistan was paying due attention to the regional situation focusing on the global war on terror, Afghanistan situation and other burning issues. He welcomed Turkey's cooperation in all fields with Pakistan, and said it was critically required. Musharraf and Gul held talks on various issues including bilateral ties, international and regional issues. On his part, the Turkish president said that Turkey appreciates and takes pride in the progress made by Pakistan in all fields. He said that both countries need to make collaborative efforts to expand their ties in all fields.
