President General Pervez Musharraf and the new US Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice have spoken on the telephone, officials said today. Both talked about US-Pakistan relations and regional and international issues, the officials added. Musharraf expressed the confidence that existing Pak-US relations will further enhance in all fields in the coming days. Musharraf said Pakistan intends to promote long-term friendship with the United States and hoped that Rice would play an active role in promoting these ties. The president said Pakistan has played a vital role in war on terror and will continue the same to route out the menace. The two leader discussed situation in Iraq, Afghanistan and war on terrorism.
