Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) will observe tomorrow prevention of poisonous drugs week under the theme of "Inadvertence may be killing." Studies have shown that more than 5,000 drugs and chemical-poison cases were reported in 1427AH and most of them occurred in houses, where children under five years of age were affected. Thus, it is important to generate awareness among parents on the importance of preventive measures, said SFDA's Executive Chairman Dr. Mohamed bin Ahmed Alkanhal. The week's activities come in line with the care and keenness of the Government to ensure safety of both Citizens and residents as well as with the Directives of Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdul-aziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, who is also Chairman of the Authority's board of directors, DR. Alkanhal added.
