Strong quake hits Papua New Guinea

A strong earthquake with a preliminary magnitude 6.7 rocked eastern Papua New Guinea on Thursday, the Hong Kong Observatory said.
The quake hit just before 5 p.m. Hong Kong time (0900 GMT)
with the epicenter about 380 kilometers (236 miles) north
of the capital, Port Moresby, the observatory said in a
statement.
No other details were immediately available.
