Undersecretary of the culture and information ministry for cultural affairs Dr Abdulaziz al-Subeyel said the ministry of culture and information has an ambitious plan for supporting the libraries and information technology. In a press statement, he said the 18th conference for the Arab federation of libraries and data is not only an Arab conference, but is an international conference which is concerned with the challenges facing the libraries in the era of technology and internet. He noted that the ministry of culture has been exerting intensive efforts in the cultural sphere, and there are plans which will be disclosed soon. Dr al-Subeyel underlined the importance of the 18th conference, and expressed appreciation for the great efforts exerted to make the conference successful. He noted that the culture and information ministry has been working to link the libraries with the basic data sources like King Abdulaziz Public Library and King Faisal Research and Islamic Studies Center in addition to King Abdulaziz City for Sciences and Technology (KACST). Dr al-Subeyel said the ministry has been currently working to implement the project of the Arab culture gate which will enable the researchers to obtain correct information.
