Turki leaderships have provided strong evidence of the strength of the bilateral relations. The late King Faisal bin Abdulaziz had visited the Turkish City of Istanbul in 1966 within the framework of his efforts to unite Islamic countries. The historical visit of Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to turkey on 14th Rajab 1427 AH corresponding to August 8, 2006 as a clear landmark of the strength of these relations, which led to the signature of six bilateral treaties between Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Turkey as well as signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) pertaining to the bilateral political consultations between the Foreign Ministries in both countries. A protocol of cooperation between the Saudi National Center for documents and archives and the Turkish archives General Directorate was also signed in addition to the signing of the treaty between the two countries for the encouragement and mutual protection of investments and the signature on MOU between the ministries of Finance in the two countries as regards treaty to avert double Taxation. A MOU in Health cooperation between the two Health Ministries was also signed in addition to signature of a treaty to regulate passengers and goods transference on Highways. --MORE
