The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud arrived in Berlin on a several day state visit to Germany at an invitation of the German Chancellor Angela Merkel. At the airport, Chancellor Angela Merkel received the monarch, giving him red-carpet welcome. King Abdullah was also received by Dr. Osama bin Abdulmajeed Shobokshi, Saudi Ambassador to Germany; Prince Mansour bin Farhan Al Saud, Saudi Ambassador to the Czech Republic; Faisal Hashim, Saudi Ambassador to Hungary; Dr. Nasser Al-Braik, Saudi Ambassador to Poland; Waleed Al-Khiraiji, Saudi Ambassador to the Netherlands; Mohammed Orabi, Egypt's Ambassador and Dean diplomatic corps to Germany, ambassadors of the GCC countries to Germany and a representative of the Arab League in Berlin. Accompanied by Chancellor Merkel, the King headed for his guest residence in downtown Berlin. At the headquarters of the German chancellorship, the King was given an official welcome, with the two countries' anthems played, honor guard inspected and two official delegations greeted by the king and his senior host. King Abdullah was accompanied by Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Foreign Minister; Prince Miqren bin Abdulaziz, Chief of General Intelligence; Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Saud, Assistant Chief of General Intelligence; other princes, ministers and senior officials.
