Due to the important status of the Kingdom and Germany at the world arena, the forthcoming visit of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to Germany is viewed as an important event.
The Kingdom and Germany, which are members of the UN, are keen on enhancing relations with all peace-loving nations.
The Saudi-German relations go back to 1929 when King Abdulaziz signed a friendship treaty with Germany.
In 1931 a German consul was appointed in the Kingdom, and after that development the Saudi-German relations witnessed continuous development.
In 2001, King Abdullah, when he was the Crown Prince, visited Germany and held meetings with senior officials on the latest developments at the international arena.
