The Islamic Fiqh (jurisprudence) Council (IFC) held here on Saturday evening the second meeting of its 19th session under the chairmanship of Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh, the General Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The participants of the meeting underscored the importance of the Holy Quran, and said Almighty Allah has kept it unchanged. They noted that Muslim scholars in the past had prohibited the literal translation of the words of the Holy Quran or writing it with other than Arabic alphabets. They also prohibited using the Holy Quran as a song as well as using it as a decoration on walls. The participants of the meeting reviewed using verses of the Holy Quran in the telecommunications means, like mobile, and other related topics.
