A US brigadier general has been wounded in a roadside bomb in northern Baghdad, the US military has announced. Brig Gen Jeffrey Dorko is the highest ranking US soldier injured in the Iraq war since the US-led invasion of 2003, BBC reported. Gen Dorko, commander of the Gulf Region Division of the US Army Corps of Engineers, was left with "non-life threatening" wounds from the explosion. He was evacuated to Landstuhl Regional Medical Centre in Germany, where he was said to be in a stable condition. A second soldier wounded in the attack was treated and released.
