Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, approved the purchase of five aircraft of King Air 350 model to enhance the Air Medical Evacuation Fleet affiliated to the General Administration for Medical Services of the Armed Forces. This was stated by the Director of General Administration for Medical Services of the Armed Forces Major General Dr. Kattab bin Eid Al-Otaibi, saying that the Crown Prince's approval of the purchase will increase the number of aircraft of the Air Medical Evacuation Fleet to 30. On his part, the Director of Air Medical Evacuation Department Air Major General Hamad bin Abdulrahman Al-Hasson said that the King Air 350 aircraft are suitable to the geographical and climatic circumstances in the Kingdom. "The Air Medical Evacuation Department was inaugurated in 1400 H. by Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz. More than 28140 patients have been evacuated by the Air Medical Evacuation aircraft", he added.
