Mexico has opened its embassy in Islamabad. Pakistan and Mexico have always enjoyed cordial relations marked by mutual respect and commonality of views on important issues and both countries have been working together to develop close and cooperative ties, said Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Khusro Bakhtiar while addressing the opening ceremony of the Mexican Embassy. He said the embassy, in addition to promoting cultural understanding and exchanges in trade, investment and agriculture, would also help in enhancing stronger ties and cooperation in diverse fields and more people-to-people contacts between the two countries. "Today is a memorable day in the Pakistan-Mexico relations. Our hearts are filled with joy at the opening of a resident Mexican Mission in Islamabad, which will contribute to further strengthening bilateral relations," said Bakhtiar. Mexican Ambassador Luis Ortiz Monasterio and Charge d Affaires Javier Gongora were also present on the occasion.
