Manae said his ministry has achieved a number of strategic projects, most prominent of which was King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Program for Health Scholarships, accordingly to which some 1000 doctors, technician and pharmacists were to be sent on scholarships abroad. This year 510 from different health specializations were sent on this program to 15 countries including U.S.A, Canada, Britain, Germany, France, Austria, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Holland, Egypt, Bahrain, Jordan and UAE, the report said, adding that 1058 male and female doctors were sent on domestic scholarships. The report went to say that the construction contracts of 1010 ideal health centers at a cost of SR3.6 billion have been concluded. Recently, the Ministry signed phase III of 440 health centers worth SR1.6 billion, the report said, noting that phase I included 150 health centers at a cost of SR525 million and phase II included 420 health centers at a cost of more than SR. 1.5 billion. --More
