An earthquake measuring 5.2 degrees on the Richter scale shook El Salvador Thursday, although no casualties or damage were reported according to DPA. The Salvadorian National System of Territorial Studies (SNET) said the quake happened at 9:47 am, and its epicentre was located 95 kilometres south of the beach town of El Majahual, in the western province of La Libertad. Violent quakes shook El Salvador on January 13 and February 13, 2001, causing severe destruction and a total of 1,114 dead.
