Nearly thirty militants were reported killed and at least ten security personnel wounded in fresh clashes in Pakistan's tribal areas, officials said. They said that the clashes were continuing in Makeen area of South Waziristan. Armed militants launched a powerful assault on the check posts and camps of security forces in Nawazkot. Officials said that armed attackers used rockets and automatic weapons. Pakistan military spokesman Maj-Gen Waheed Arshad said that clashes continued between security forces and gunmen since Wednesday night. He quoted area tribesmen as saying that around thirty attackers have been killed.
