Thirty people were burned to death in Gusau, north-west Nigeria Friday when a vehicle in which they were travelling was crashed, local reports said, according to DPA. The accident involved a Peugeot mini-bus and an 18-seater Toyota bus travelling in opposite directions. Local reports said the accident occurred as the driver of one of the vehicles lost control while trying to avoid a stray animal and collided with the oncoming vehicle. Seconds after the accident, the mini-bus, carrying commuters, burst into flames and killing its 16 occupants. The fire also engulfed the other vehicle, killing its 14 occupants. The commander of Nigeria's road safety agency in the area, Umar Liman, confirmed the incident, according to DPA.
