A huge consignment of 300 tons of Saudi relief goods for flood affected people of Pakistan is arriving in Karachi during the current week. “The relief items would be dispatched to the victims of the recent floods in Pakistan's Balochistan and Sindh provinces,” Acting Saudi Ambassador Abdullah Zahrani told Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on Thursday. Giving details of the consignment, he said it contains 12500 cartoons of foodstuffs apart from 1000 tents, 3000 blankets and 1000 plastic sheets for the flood hit people. Zahrani said the foodstuffs and other items would be handed over to Pakistani authorities as they would reach Karachi. He said most likely these goods would be taken to the flood affected areas from Karachi. The ambassador said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would continue to extend assistance to Pakistan whenever it would need it.
