JEDDAH: Pakistan International School English Section (PISJ-ES) Jeddah is sending the second shipment of 60 tons of relief goods packed in 125 Euro pallets for the flood victims in Pakistan, school principal Sehar Kamran said Wednesday. “On request of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) of Pakistan, a special arrangement for the transport of goods through the Saudi Arabian Airlines has been made by NATO,” she said. “We have earlier contributed 2.2 million Pakistan rupees to the Prime Minister's Fund and six tons of relief goods were sent via PIA. The Pakistan International School stands by the country at all times of need, it is our national obligation and we are committed to share it with pride,” she said. The school has arranged packing of relief items in Euro pallets as required and specified by NATO. “We express our gratitude to the NDMA authorities for their trust on PISJ-ES; NDMA has acknowledged PISJ-ES as one of the distinguished Pakistani institutions abroad,” she said. “The airfreight forwarding contractor of NATO arranged the shipment of pallets from the School last Tuesday and the shipment will be airlifted to Pakistan Wednesday,” she added. She said the school authorities also thanked Pakistan Ambassador the school's link officer, students and staff as well as the community members for their support. “We profoundly acknowledge the contributions made by the Turkish consulate and Turkish community; they donated 5000 blankets and other household items,” she said . The 2nd consignment consists of flour, stitched dresses, dates, bed sheets, blankets, milk powder, fresh rusk, mineral water, biscuits, medicines, mixed food items, family food packs, rice packs, walking sticks, sugar, household items, children's dresses, mattresses, rugs and bed sheets, among others.
