The Israeli army shot dead a Palestinian youth near a security fence in the eastern Gaza Strip Saturday afternoon, hospital officials said, according to DPA. "We were informed by the Israeli authorities that their soldiers have killed a youth near the border to the east of the al-Burij refugee camp in central Gaza Strip," director of the ambulance service, Mu'awia Hassanin, said. An Israeli army spokesman confirmed the incident, saying the troops killed the man after spotting a group of people planting a bomb alongside the security fence. The army also arrested two colleagues of the dead man, the spokesman added. Five other Palestinians were detained today after entering Israel from Gaza, Israeli sources said.
