HUSSEIN OF JORDAN HELD HERE TODAY A CLOSED-DOOR BILATERAL MEETING DURING WHICH THEY DISCUSSED THE OVERALL DEVELOPMENTS AT THE ARAB, ISLAMIC AND INTERNATIONAL ARENAS, PARTICULARLY THE SITUATION IN THE PALESTINIAN TERRITORIES. THE TWO LEADERS REVIEWED THE OUTCOME OF THE QUARTET MEETING HELD IN THE EGYPTIAN CITY OF SHARAM AL-SHEIKH, EGYPT, YESTERDAY AND THE EFFORTS BEING EXERTED TO ACHIEVE FAIR AND COMPREHENSIVE PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST. THE TALKS ALSO COVERED THE SITUATION IN LEBANON AND IRAQ AND WAYS OF PURIFYING ANY DIFFERENCES THAT WOULD HINDER THE JOINT ARAB ACTION AND WAYS OF IMPLEMENTING RIYADH ARAB SUMMIT RESOLUTIONS. THE TWO LEADERS ALSO DISCUSSED ASPECTS OF COOPERATION BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES AND WAYS OF ENHANCING THEM IN ALL FIELDS IN A WAY THAT SERVES THE COMMON INTEREST.
