The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz held a round of talks at his palace in Jeddah today with visiting President Ali Abdullah Salih of Yemen. At the outset of the meeting, King Abdullah welcomed President Salih and his accompanying delegation, wishing them good stay in the Kingdom. On his part, President Salih thanked King Abdullah for the warm welcome and generous hospitality accorded to him and accompanying delegation. During the meeting, the overall developments and major incidents at the Arab, Islamic and international arenas, led by the Palestinian cause and situation in Iraq, were discussed. The two sides also discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries and ways of enhancing them in all fields to the benefit of the two countries and peoples. The meeting was attended by Prince Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General; Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Interior Minister; Prince Abdulmajeed bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Makkah Region, ministers and senior protocol officials. On the Yemeni side, the meeting was attended by Abdulaziz Abdulghani, Speaker of the Shoura Council; Ahmed Sofan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation; Dr. Abu-Bakr Algarbi, Foreign Minister; and senior officials.
