The Chairman of the Algerian Senate, Abdelkader Bensalah, has arrived in Islamabad along with a six-member delegation on a week-long visit to Pakistan, said an official statement. Pakistan Senate (Upper House of Parliament) Chairman Mohammedmian Soomro and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received the Algerian delegation. Soomro said that the main aim of Bensalah's visit was to further strengthen the brotherly relations between the two countries. He expressed the hope that the visit would help improve relations between the two countries in the fields of trade and commerce, besides strengthening parliamentary cooperation. During the visit, the Algerian Senate chairman would also meet Speaker of National Assembly Chaudhry Amir Hussain, visit Lahore and Karachi to meet members of the provincial assemblies.
