The US Agency for International Development (USAID) will provide $14 million funds for a three-year project aimed at strengthening national and provincial legislative governance in Pakistan, an official statement said. The USAID and Pakistan's Parliament (Lower House and Upper House) have signed two Memorandums of Understanding to the effect. The project will help improve the quality of legislative process through training courses, conferences and internship programmes. US Ambassador in Pakistan Ms Nancy Powell, Upper House Chairman Muhammadmian Soomro and Lower House Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain were present at the signing ceremony.
