A strong earthquake shook southwestern China's Yunnan province early Sunday, killing at least two, injuring hundreds and forcing the evacuation of 120,000 people, state media reported. The 6.4-magnitude quake struck at 5:34 a.m. (2134 GMT Saturday) and was centered in the old downtown of Ning'er County in Pu'er City, the official Xinhua News Agency reported. The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 6.2. At least two people died and more than 200 were injured, 15 seriously, Xinhua reported. One of the dead was a 5-year-old boy who was crushed by debris, state television reported. The boy's parents were also trapped but were rescued by local residents.
