A French frigate recovered Friday the bodies of 16 people who had tried to enter Europe illegally off the Maltese coast, according to dpa. The search was continuing, the French Marine Administration said in Toulon. However, the bodies were already decaying. Several ships with illegal migrants aboard have capsized in the waters between Libya and Malta. A boat with 53 migrants aboard disappeared there on May 21.
