The incident happened during the landing just before 1900 GMT near Groningen, a city in the north-east of Holland near the border with Germany. The plane, a Fokker-50, belonged to the Flemish airline VLM. A Fokker-50 can can carry up to 51 people, but it is unclear how many people were on board during the incident.
